We offer you a recording from a comprehensive series of webinars with an English lecturer and therapist working with the period of pre and perinatal development and the author of the „Integrative Pediatric Therapy“ method, Matthew Appleton. Within each webinar, we examined closely one selected topic and the specifics of therapeutic work with it.

The themes of the series were: IVF, caesarean birth, working with the family system. The final webinar was the completion of the whole devoted to the questions of the participants. The webinars include videos showing examples of Matthew’s work. The aim of the series is to acquaint participants with the specifics of working with selected topics, to provide them with orientation in their focal points and tools for working with them. The series of seminars is intended for therapists, doulas, midwives, psychologists, health professionals and all others who meet children or adults in their work and touch on prenatal and perinatal topics.

Webinars are in English, translated into Czech.

Webinar topics:
  • IVF

Children conceived by artificial insemination and their parents face many specific challenges. Knowing how to recognize the way artificial insemination affects a child’s psyche and body allows us to provide appropriate support. The behavior that results from this form of conception is almost always misunderstood and responses to it are inappropriate. In this webinar, we will explore how babies and children express the cellular consciousness of eggs and sperm in spontaneous movements and how we can help them integrate the story that comes from this early experience.

  • Caesarean section

Children have achetypal expectations of what their birth will be like. They are preparing for it in the womb, long before the birth. Obstetric interventions, although sometimes necessary, disrupt innate expectations of how labor will take place and have lifelong consequences. In this webinar, we will look at the specific impact of cesarean sections and how we can help babies, children and adults find internal coherence after the invasive and disruptive effects of cesarean sections.

  • Work with the whole family system

Babies and children are embedded in family systems. If we focus only on the child, we do not deal with unresolved traumas, stresses and relationship disorders that can recur in the family system. Babies and young children are particularly sensitive to these energies and absorb them like mushrooms. When we work with the family as a system, we can begin to create a more stable and safer space for the child. In this webinar, we will look at some very practical ways we can support parents in supporting their child.

  • Completion of the cycle

Exploring such topics often raises as many questions as they answer. Therefore, the last webinar will be devoted to answering questions that arise during the series. However, questions can be directed to other aspects of pre and perinatal psychology that participants will be curious about.
